| It is hard to resist
a beautiful woman who has mesmerizing eyes, however if
we were not born with such features, is there a way to
still accomplish this dream?
If
you don’t want to spend over 10 minutes gluing and sticking
in front of the mirror everyday, the only answer is
to get a double eyelid surgery. Actually, among the
different cosmetic surgeries, the double eyelid procedure
gives the highest return on investment. It is only necessary
to spend around 20K to 30K NTD to find a professional
cosmetic surgeon, and give your eyes a whole new radiant
look.
But now comes the problem, spending
money may not be a big deal, the bigger problem is the
recovery period and the uncertainty after surgery. How
many people are hesitant to have surgery performed because
they are afraid of the swollenness after surgery and
unsatisfactory results? Plus the constant reports by
the media about double eyelid surgery cases with “especially“
bad results, cause a lot of consumers to think that
getting double eyelid surgery is equivalent to “Ultraman”
or having “uneven eyes.” Especially when the special
cases they choose are performed by well known cosmetic
surgeons, resulting in many women thinking more thoroughly
about performing this surgery then choosing a boyfriend!
Of course, it is still better to be
careful since it is a surgical procedure. Traditional
double eyelid surgery, regardless of age or appearance,
a 2 cm incision is always made on the eyelid, the surgeon
will then re-enter the incision and separate and destroy
orbicularis oculi muscles and fat tissues, until finding
the muscle that lifts the eyelid or even deeper to the
upper eyelid bone and then secure it through stitching.
Maybe you do not understand the medical terms described,
but just through listening, you can imagine how“huge”and
“painful” the surgery is.
If the incision method of traditional
surgery is so “thorough,” then the results should be
great right? Unfortunately, most post surgery complications
arise from this surgery method, which is not so difficult
to explain: first, if tissue is excessively destroyed,
the chances of swollenness, exudation and bleeding post
surgery also increases, which means you will experience
a longer period of “swollenness” after surgery. Second,
all damaged tissue will leave a scar after recovery,
even if the scars under the wound are not seen, I am
sure no surgeon can guarantee that means that the tissue
will “behave.” If accidents like the scar under the
eyelid sticks together, it may result in uneven eyes
or even a sagging face. Third, since the incision is
not small, if the surgeon does not measure accurately
or the eyelid skin removed is uneven, your eyes will
be permanently uneven, which sometimes cannot be fixed.
Since double eyelid surgery seems so
frightening, “stitching” should be safer right? Generally
speaking that is correct, because with this method you
can only see stitches and not a surgical incision. The
method is for the surgeon to use extra fine thread to
stitch “in-out-in” of your eyelids to secure the eyelid
skin to the meibomian to create the shape of the double
eyelid. The advantage of this procedure is that it is
fast and easy to perform; it can even be performed by
eye doctors or general doctors. In addition because
it does not have a horizontal incision, swollenness
will subside more quickly after surgery. But the most
important thing is that if the patient does not like
the results, as soon as the thread is removed, the eyelid
will return to its former appearance. But as they say,
nothing is perfect, with the stitching method, sometimes
the thin thread that secures the eyelid will “fall”
due to time or outer impact, you must return to the
surgeon to get a new stitch for each fallen one, so
it seems quite troublesome as well.
Trying to find a better solution, cosmetic
surgeons from around the world have been studying and
researching to improve this surgery. What I would like
to recommend to everyone is the “Korean micro incision
method.” This double eyelid surgery method uses very
tiny incisions, and causes minimal damage. First the
surgeon will carefully measure the area where the fold
will be on the eyelid, then he will make tiny 3 mm incisions
on the inner, middle, and outer eyelid, and with the
aid of a micro-surgical tool, proceeds to separate the
muscle and soft tissues through the tiny incisions,
lastly the muscle that lifts the eyelid must be found
and secured under the skin. The entire procedure only
lasts about 40 minutes, and leaves only 3 tiny micro
scars on your eyelid.
The biggest advantage of Korean micro
incision surgery is that it combines the advantages
of the long maintenance time of traditional double eyelid
surgery and the fast recovery time of the stitching
method. Because the process of the surgery has minimal
injury to the tissue, so the recovery time after surgery
is less then a week, and it can let you have naturally
beautiful eyelids. In addition with this method, we
secure the muscle that lifts the eyelid under the skin;
it is not only supported by single stitches like the
stitching method, so there will not be a problem with
sudden loosening or falling. Lastly and also most importantly,
the double eyelids created with this method look especially
natural, and the chances of scaring or sticking seldom
occurs, even if you are very picky with the evenness
or size of the double eyelids after surgery, the surgeon
can easily make adjustments to change the shape through
secured locations, which leaves room for alterations
after surgery.
Any surgery requires an adjustment
time; Korean micro incision surgery is with no exception.
Generally speaking, the best results are seen when the
procedure is performed on younger patients with tighter
skin. If your surgeon diagnoses you to have aged or
saggy skin, then you are not suitable for this procedure;
because for saggy or loose skin, the traditional method
of removing extra skin is the only way to solve the
root of the problem. From my own experience after performing
hundreds of eyelid surgeries, a good surgeon must possess
knowledge of different kinds of procedures so he can
help solve the problems of each patient according to
their individual needs.
