Nasolabial Sulcus Fill in Treatment

1. How do I know if I should take surgery or take hyaluronic acid injection to improve my nasolabial sulcus?

This depends on the seriousness of your nasolabial sulcus; usually if it is just a slightly creased nasolabial sulcus, you can use hyaluronic acid injections or long lasting Aquamid injections to improve the condition. If the doctor evaluates that the nasolabial sulcus are too serious, or they can only be treated with over 2cc of hyaluronic acid, then Medpor filling surgery is the more stable and economical treatment method.

2. Are there any risks to nasolabial sulcus surgery? Will there be any sequela?

This surgery is just simply implanting an artificial bone, and the procedure is similar to rhinoplasty. Because there are no important blood vessels or nerves passing through the nasolabial sulcus area, the surgery is very safe. But how much the nasolabial sulcus should be lifted requires detailed calculations and measuring, this is in order to prevent excessive treatment from affecting the facial expressions, or the positions of the wing of nose and nostrils.
