Technique for creating dimples

1. Will stitched dimples become loose?

This situation rarely happens. Normally the thread used to stitch dimples will be nylon thread that cannot be absorbed; it can exist in the body for a long time without degrading. So unless the surgeon does not stitch the thread tight enough or it is stretched too much, it almost never loosens. Of course it is important that you listen to the recommendation of the doctor and not open your mouth too widely after surgery.

2. I have seen other people with stitched dimples; it looks like their skin is a little sunken?

Because the thread is tied too tightly, it will possibly cause temporarily sunken cheeks, but most patients with these conditions will recover in two weeks. If the thread is stitched too close to the skin, then the situation may take longer to recover. You can go to the original surgeon to ask for adjustments. Our clinic uses new thread with elasticity to produce dimples, so sunken cheeks rarely appear after surgery.
3. What are the differences between dimples and梨窩?

Simply stated, dimples are located above, and 梨窩 are located below. Asians usually have dimples on the cheeks, positioned at an angle around 2-2.5 cm above the corners of the mouth; they are either round or cone shaped. 梨窩 are more rare, they are mostly horizontal from the corner of the mouth, around 1 cm away in a downward cone shape. Usually artificially produced dimples are more natural and obvious; only if necessary, 梨窩should not be deliberately produced.
