Collagen filler injection

1. I heard that it is easy to have allergic reactions from collagen injections, is that true?

Because of the protein purification technology used to produce collagen in the past, occasionally there would be allergic reactions like redness in partial areas. We currently use the products of Japan Koken Biotech Company that is known for good quality products. The products have also passed the Department of Health inspections, so the quality and the effectiveness are ensured. Of course if you have a high allergy body type, we recommend an anti-allergy test before injection, or choosing another type of hyaluronic acid for injection.

2. Why does collagen injection effect last longer than hyaluronic acid?

The source of collagen is animal (cow) skin grown in a sterile environment; it has very strict regulations and monitoring internationally. The essence extracted from the material is very pure, and is not easily interrupted or influenced by impurities; so it has high quality and reliability. Also, collagen and the human body have good biocompatibility; collagen can be viewed by the immune system temporarily as a part of the body and will not be easily attacked or decomposed. So collagen will naturally stay in the body longer than artificially produced materials.
3. Since collagen comes from the skin of cows; is there the possibility of getting Mad Cow Disease?

Humans infected with Mad Cow Disease are called Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. Internationally, in order to prevent this possibility, the environment and animals used to grow collagen are strictly monitored and protected. Also the collagen produced by Koken is grown from calf skin, and the calf’s body will not have the Mad Cow Disease virus. You can relax!
