Korean style rhinoplasty

How many people are avid for having a nose of a Korean female celebrity?
Although there are some people who do not agree with this kind of nose shape which is carved from the same mold. However it cannot be denied that tall and pointed nose head, natural nasal dorsum, and a prefect sized nostril, all satisfy with the golden ratio of a nose.

Nose is a specific symbol to the face. Without a tall and sharp nose, it is the same as without having a three dimensional facial features. People will not have a deep impression with you. It can be said that it is as important as the window of the soul, the eye. Especially with Taiwanese people’s traditional nose shape, it is short (retrousse nose) and think (garlic nose), it requires extra attention when dealing with it. Therefore selecting a suitable rhinoplasty procedure is extremely important…

Speaking of the real spirit of Korean style rhinoplasty, it is the utilization of different types of materials. It is similar to constructing the house to shape the nose into the shape you desired. Especially with extra emphasis to the adjustment of the nasal bone and nose cartilage, it is totally different compared with general traditional rhinoplasty method where “there is only a single stripe from the start to the end”. Naturally, there is a great difference in the result.

The rhinoplasty master of Korea, Doctor Zheng Dong Xue, is the ancestor and the best in this kind of Korean style rhinoplasty. I am very fortunate to be trained and obtained an approved certificate from his clinic. Immediately after the training, I decided to provide this type of spirit in rhinoplasty and procedures to WiSH customers to choose from. Obviously, we will still provide other traditional surgery technique services to everyone.

The rhinoplasty we provide can be all used with intravenous anesthetic and local anesthesia which allowing the process to be painless and safe.

The price in a rhinoplasty is actually depends on the difference on the choice of materials and amount used. Selecting an artificial nasal bone with reliable quality and high stability, the chance of rejections and complications occurring is almost zero. Thus it can be seen that the quality of materials are extremely importance.

Apart from choosing the most suitable nasal bone for patients according to their nose shape, it is also necessary to sculpture the nose mold during the operation, in order to be 100% accord with patient’s requests.

Below are the most frequently used artificial nasal bones by Korean Surgeons.

Best candidates for the surgery
Who has collapsed nose head and short nose
Everyone
Everyone
Who wants to have rhinoplasty just on the nose head and nasal dorsum
Disadvantages
Straight nasal dorsum, nose shape is for male, suitable for long noses
The nasal dorsum will be thicker, requires longer surgery time to adjust the shape
The price is slightly higher
f wanting the nose to be thicker, there is no L shaped to support it. Not suitable for short nose patients.

Apart from artificial nasal bone, two other popular filling materials, which belong to the product of biotechnology, are Gortex and Alloderm. Both of them are in sliced form and the price is expensive. During the surgery, the surgeons are required to cut the size and thickness themselves and then can be inserted into the nose after repetitive adjustments. Their advantages are that they can integrate with subcutaneous tissues to become a part of the body, allowing the external shape of the nose to look natural and the patient will not feel the presence of the foreign matter. Among them, Gortex is often used for cushioning higher and wider of the nasal dorsum, whereas Alloderm is often used for cushioning higher nose head.

Apart from the many artificial fillers mentioned above, another characteristic of Korean style rhinoplasty is the effective processing of patient’s autologus cartilage for other fillings. For example nasal septum, ear cartilage, and even rib cartilage etc, have all been used frequently. The biggest advantages of using patient’s own tissues are that its compatibility is high, infections will not occur and material fees are saved. On the other hand, the disadvantages are that there is the possibility of an extra wound, and the surgery fee is higher.

The characteristics of the body’s cartilage are slightly different. The doctor can select suitable the cartilage depending on the patient’s situation. Currently, we like to use nasal septum in our rhinoplasty, because of its biological characteristic which is the same as the tissues of the eyes and nose. Also, it will not leave a scar at other body areas. It is the most reasonable area for providing cartilage but the disadvantage is that the surgery time is slightly longer.

Furthermore, if your nasal bone is out of shape, it is required to conduct nasal bone re-correction surgery at the same time in order to achieve the expectant result.

Application
Can be used for elongation of nasal dorsum, holding up of the nasion or cushioning of the nose tip etc.
Cushioning of the nose tip

Operational incision
Same incision as the rhinoplasty, no other incision
Approximately 1.5cm incision behind the ear
Approximately 5cm incision on the front chest
Advantages
As long as there is enough obtained, it can be used in almost any rhinoplasty, and can adjust crocked nasal septum at the same time
The technique for obtaining is simple and the surgery time is short.
If the mass of the cartilage is enough it can be used to substitute artificial nasal bone.
Disadvantages
The level of technique is slightly higher, can be performed by surgeons who have been trained before
The cartilage that can be utilized is slightly not enough and there will be an extra wound on the back of the ear
There will be obvious scaring on the front of the chest and there will be more pain after surgery

Obviously, the above mentioned artificial or autologus tissue can be used together, and only accurate judgment before the surgery and flexible use of different materials can create a perfect nose shape.

Currently, there are two types of operational incisions for nose jobs, inner nose and open incisions. From the basis of each individuals nose shape and the material used, we will provide you with the best recommendation.
