Eyebrow lift
The position of eyebrows is similar
to other skin tissues on the face that
would droop gradually because of aging.
In fact, that many cases of upper eyelid
ptosis are caused or aggravated because
of the changed position of eyebrow which
is called pseudoptosis. The experienced
surgeons would check the eyebrow positions
while he accesses the patient’s upper
eyelids, in order to avoid any misjudgments
or unsatisfactory results after the
surgery.
We provide two types of surgical methods
to those patients whose problem of eyelid
ptosis could only be solved by eyebrow
lift after the doctor diagnosed it.
The first one is the skin excision at
the superior and inferior margin of
the eyebrow, which is mainly performed
by cutting the excess or lax skin along
the eyebrow line that starts from the
two third of outside eyebrow. Finally,
the surgery makes the eyebrows fixation.
The advantage is the effective and long-lasting
result; on the other hand, it would
temporarily leave a thin scar after
the surgery, which would gradually disappear
between three months and six months.
Second one, which has the high popularity
in Korea, is the subcutaneous buried
suture. The surgical procedure is to
create one or two 0.5mm incisions on
the determined position where to suspend
the eyebrow. Utilizing the special subcutaneous
needle with the threads to previously
fix the eyebrow, then make another 1cm
incision on both side of scalp respectively,
the subcutaneous needle brings the thread
through the incision and fix it on the
fascia of scalp to carry out the surgery.
The advantages of this surgery are the
shorter surgery time and faster recovery,
but this surgery can only locally improve
the outer end of the eyebrow elevated.
Alternatively, the eyebrows can be elevated
by the use of botulinum toxin injections,
however, the results would probably
be varied from the volume absorption.
It would occasionally generate the situation
of inconsistent height between two eyebrows.
Therefore, we only employ this method
to enhance and minor adjust the eyebrow
position.
