Artificial bone, also called Medpor,
is a unique product of Americas Porex
Company. In the early years, it is used
for the reconstruction and modification
of missing or damaged facial bones.
It can also be tailored made for individuals
into their required shape or size. It
is an artificial implant material that
is compatible with the physiology and
for permanent use. In recent years,
due to the rise and development of cosmetic
surgeries, Medpor has more diversified
choices and applications. For example,
nasal bone, zygoma, maxilla, inner nasal
angle, chin or mandibular angle etc.
All can use this type of material to
achieve excellent filling results. In
addition, as it will be compatible with
body tissues, and utilizes ergonomics
to design all sorts of different filling
shapes for different body parts, post
surgery results will be far more natural
than the normal silicone implant and
there are no issues of displacement
or compulsory change further down the
track.
On the basis that Medpor has already
been widely used by foreign cosmetic
surgeons, our clinic has also introduced
this type of advanced filling material
and technique to offer consumers more
variety and customized choices in order
to achieve the most comprehensive and
balanced post surgery effect. |

According
to the characteristic of Medpor
and the position of implant, the
surgery can be performed with
general anesthesia or intravenous
sedation. Its implant method is
as same as the normal silicon
implants. The incision is at the
mouth cavity’s mucous. The existence
of scarring cannot by visualized
from appearance.
After the artificial bone has
been validated, it is required
to be sculptured and modified
during the surgery in order to
fit with the structure differences
of individuals. After installing,
it is required to use titanium
and nickel alloy bone nails to
fix it in position and stitch
up the incision. This bone nail
can be kept without degeneration.
It is not required to take it
out in the future. |
